The RSVP Newsletter

March 2009

RSVP would like to thank everyone for their past support. Whether you've adopted a dog, fostered a special needs animal, volunteered your time, attended an event or offered a donation - it is appreciated more than words can say and enables RSVP to assist those dogs with no where else to turn. In an effort to keep all informed of the work that is made possible with your help, we will be publishing a newsletter periodically. So, here is an update on what's been happening! And thank you again for all you do!

Letter to the Editor

When RSVP received a phone call from Paula, a distressed dog owner, they responded immediately and offered assistance. Paula was in a desperate situation and could no longer keep Emily, a dog she had rescued. RSVP was able to work with Paula and Emily was successfully adopted by a new loving family. Click here to read Paula's letter to the Editor, expressing her gratitude, which was published in the two local Long Island newspapers, The Community Journal and The Independent.

Kelly

Kelly has been volunteering with RSVP for the past 3+ years. A true champion for dogs, read about her unending efforts to help all dogs in need. Click Here for her story.

10 Lab Puppies

Debra, one of the RSVP co-founders, has been with RSVP since its inception in 1995. Throughout the past 13+ years she has single-handedly managed their Spay-Neuter program. This program has spayed and neutered 2,431 cats, kittens, puppies and dogs - and counting! The RSVP Community Outreach program provides food, shelter and medical services to pet owners who need financial assistance. Recently, ten (10) black lab puppies were born to one such family! Debra made the necessary arrangements to have all of them fixed and the adult dogs too! Pictured is Gillian Wood Pultz, director of the Southold Animal Shelter cuddling with some of the pups - all of whom were adopted. A very special thank you to Debra, for her dedication and making a difference!

Special Needs

"No dog left behind" could easily be an RSVP motto. This past winter, RSVP was there to assist some of our four-legged friends who had special needs. Click Here to read about the dogs whose luck took a turn for the better - thanks to RSVP, their volunteers and supporters.
