You may have heard the tragic story of two (2) senior dogs, ages 11 and 15, Jackpot & Sheba in early September. Their owner had died and a girlfriend, now in jail, had suffocated “Little” (bottom of picture). Their lives continued on a downward spiral as they were taken to the Hempstead Shelter, the controversial, $7million Long Island “kill” shelter which has been the target of many animal rescue groups. A friend of the deceased owner rescued them and placed them in a private boarding facility. She recently contacted RSVP, Inc and asked for help in finding them a foster or permanent home.
