"Esmerelda"

Heartbroken, a Long Island mom called. She has to give up her beloved Esmerelda. The family's twelve year old son disturbed Esmerelda while sleeping and she bit him. Esmerelda is not a bad dog and her behavior is not uncommon. It is the way adult dogs teach young puppies how to behave. Dogs do not have "time outs" like people. But unfortunately, their method of correction is not acceptable in a family of humans, and now Esmerelda must suffer the consequences. If an adult home cannot be found, her owner's only choice is to have Esmerelda euthanized. She is a Jack Russell mix, three (3) years young, 40lbs and friendly with people, but not other animals.
