Adopted June, 2010
Simba
January, 2010
Simba is a loving senior black chow, approx 8 years, who spent the past few years of his life suffering in the solitude of his outdoor pen. Every breath he drew was labored as the stages of heart worm progressed. Eating and drinking became a chore due to his severe coughing fits.
Moved by his suffering, Simba was rescued by RSVP volunteers who fell in love him. He was affectionately described as "the wild boar" and "the ugly walrus" who loved to rest his head in your lap and feel the comfort of a gentle hand.
Simba was treated for his condition with funding provided by their Community Outreach program. It was a very costly procedure and Simba had to undergo painful injections in his spine. He was such a good patient. Well, the good news is that he has one more treatment and he will be heart worm free!
Simba can breathe easily now and has been given a new lease on life. The only thing he needs is you!
Simba is very people friendly but would do best as an only dog. Please be that special person to make the rest of Simba's life worth it all. If you would like to adopt, foster or make a tax-deductible donation for medical expenses, call (631)325-1733 or (631)734-2034 or visit www.rsvpinc.org.
