"Food Drive"
July, 2010
Summer is here and while outside dogs are safe from freezing temperatures, extreme heat can be equally hazardous. RSVP Inc. and their Community Outreach volunteers continue to visit dogs that are kept outdoors 24/7 to ensure adequate shelter, food and water. Last week a dog house was provided to replace an old rusty oil drum that was being used for shelter. You can just imagine how unbearable that must have been when temperatures rose above 90 degrees.
RSVP relies on food donations to help provide these services. If you can spare a can or bag of pet food, drop off is available at Riverhead Town Hall, 200 Howell Ave. Also, if you would like to volunteer to help organize a food drive with local stores and/or girl/boy scout troops, please call
(631) 877-3400 or visit www.rsvpinc.org
for more details.
Please, help us help them.
Pictured is Chance, who was abandoned, living under a shed and rescued by RSVP Community Outreach.
