"Cookie"
July, 2010
“Cookie”, a Jack Russell Terrier was left at a municipal shelter when his owner died last July. What must go through a dog's mind in this situation? Having known comfort and companionship throughout his life, and then suddenly alone, locked in a cell, in a seemingly hostile environment with other caged animals. Understandably, Cookie was stressed and frightened. He did not show well and did not welcome advances from visitors. However, once outside the kennel, he enjoyed walking with volunteers and was well mannered. RSVP came to Cookie's rescue and placed him in a foster home, where he could feel more at ease.
His foster family reports that this is a great dog. He is wary of strangers but it just takes a minute for him to warm up. Cookie is seven (7) years young, loves playing in the snow, is agile, intelligent and wonderful to watch as he runs circles around his new canine companions. He is also tolerant of cats. If you want a buddy and devoted friend, Cookie is the dog for you.
