Sasha
April, 2009
“Sasha” is a very sweet, am-staff mix, maybe some pug who is very affectionate. Our pretty little girl is light tan with a dark muzzle, has a small frame and weighs about 30lbs. She loves belly rubs, playing with her toys and will shower you with kisses. Her owners did not have time for her, which is a shame. Dogs do NOT need a lot of attention. And quality time with them can be incorporated into quality time for yourself. Take a walk or drive to a nearby beach or park. Decompress, reflect, contemplate. Review your “list” and plan your priorities. It's productive and therapeutic. “Take time to smell the flowers.” Your dog can teach you a thing or two about what is important. And do try to incorporate your dog into your busy schedule whenever possible. Most dogs LOVE car rides. They will gladly accompany you on your daily errands to the store, post office or chauffeuring the kids and wait patiently in the back seat. And they LOVE to stick their nose out the window and take in all the wonderful smells and the stories they tell, that only dogs can sense. It will fill their day, give them diversions and help tire them out. They will return home more relaxed and ready to nap.
So, the next time you're dashing out the door to pick up dinner at a nearby, fast food, drive through restaurant (how busy is that), take your best friend with you. Or consider “Sasha.” She'd love to tag along! Call (631) 728-3524 or visit
