Raphael

"Raphael" arrived at a large municipal shelter in December, 2007.
This mild mannered, calm, friendly, male went unnoticed for nearly a year and a half!
His white muzzle gives the appearance of a senior dog and belies his age. He is approx. 4 years young.
Raphael would typically lie in his kennel, curled up in a ball on the cold, hard, concrete floor and look up with his sad eyes when visitors passed by. His passive, unassuming demeanor may have also been part of the reason he was was not noticed.
RSVP decided that he had been there way too long and was determined to give him a chance.

As it turned out, Raphael was previously chipped and research revealed that he was originally purchased at a commercial pet store when he was a puppy. However, no other information about his owner could be found.

Raphael is a mid-sized, Am-Staff mix with a beautiful, healthy, chocolate brown coat, cropped ears, which look intimidating but he is really a sweetheart. He is house trained and has a gentle mouth, carefully taking treats from your hand.
