Moochie
May, 2009
Maybe the name "Moochie" doesn't exactly conjure images of a 2 year old, 75lb, male, pedigree, red-nosed pit-bull. But the truth is, Moochie is a mush – and an exceptional dog with a great lineage, history and numerous qualities that any pet owner would welcome.
Both parents were pedigrees with papers, both had excellent dispositions and Moochie has followed suit. In addition, he was blessed with a loving and caring owner who took the time to train him since he was only a few weeks old. This is a winning combination that is hard to beat.
Moochie will place his nose on your cheek to see if you are awake and lick your eye lashes as if to say, "Wake up! It's morning!" He knows all the basic commands, sit (even in sign language, two fingers over the thumb), shake, high 5, come, down etc. He will give that endearing, quizzical head tilt when you talk to him and respond with a low, base-range "wooo-wooo" when asked to speak nice. Moochie has a gentle mouth when hand-fed and will even drop a marrow bone if told "No." He is also good with children and has been with ages 2-10. The list just goes on. Moochie does, however, need practice walking on a leash and is very strong so his prospective owner should keep that in mind.
Moochie's original owner, a Long Island woman lost her job and is returning to her home town in the State of Washington. Recently enacted breed restrictions there have made it impossible to take Moochie along. She is heart-broken and wants nothing more than to find a good home for her baby. If you would like more info on this truly great dog, call (631) 728-3524 or visit www.rsvpinc.org. Moochie is a definite keeper!
