Hennessy
“Hennessy” is blind. He is also a handsome American Staffordshire Terrier, black with a white tuxedo bib, 4 years young, 80 lbs. and very muscular.
His physical attributes were his misfortune. Hennessy was used as a stud to breed many pit bull puppies which were sold for profit. His owner surrendered him to a shelter when he became blind as a result of an untreated heartworm condition.
His steps are cautious now as he depends on people to guide his way. It is a travesty that such a strong and magnificent dog has been rendered as helpless as a kitten.
Fortunately, a caring person heard about Hennessy and paid to have him treated by a local vet. He will be cured of heartworm but it is uncertain if his vision will return.
Hennessy doesn't need much beyond a kind touch. He is a gentle giant, searching for someone who understands, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." -Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The Little Prince
