Bobbles
June, 2009
If you looked up the word "cute" in the dictionary, you might just find a picture of "Bobbles." Well, maybe not - but this one pound little bundle of joy would certainly qualify, hands down.
Kelly, an RSVP volunteer first met our Pet of the Week at the veterinarians office. A breeder had taken her in because there was something very wrong. The 4 week old pup could not keep her head erect and it would wobble without control when attempting to walk. Bobbles was diagnosed with cerebellar hypoplasia, a disorder affecting the connecting vertibrae from the spinal cord to the neck.
Although untreatable, the condition does not improve or worsen with age and the animal can usually compensate and have a normal lifespan.
The breeder was considering euthanizing the pup but Kelly convinced her to surrender the tiny dog instead and RSVP would try to find a suitable home.
Bobbles is a miniature pomeranian/long haired daschund mix and will remain tiny, under 10 lbs. Although she should not require special medical treatment for her condition, she will need a home where she can receive proper care and attention.
Call (631) 728-3524 or visit www.rsvpinc.org for more information about this precious angel.
