Dixie

Pretty Dixie was the motivation behind the formation of
Forgotten Friends of Long Island.

Dixie was a stray, picked up along the highway. She is a shepherd/collie mix, about 4 years young and weighs approx. 35lbs. Routine tests revealed that she had heart worm. A small group of caring individuals raised the funds for her treatment and Dixie now has a clean bill of health. And Long Island has a new 501C3 non-profit dog rescue organization!

Dixie is extremely timid and needs a quiet home. She is good with other non-agressive dogs and does not exhibit any interest in cats - an excellent and rare dog trait.
