Catherine

One look in her soulful eyes and anyone can see the gentle spirit that lies within.
But Catherine has a tragic story to tell.
Catherine is a German Shepherd mix, about 7 years old and the most gentle dog you could ever meet.
Catherine's sweet nature is diametrically opposed to her earlier life which was filled with violence, pain and suffering.
She was abused as a young dog and suffered multiple stab wounds, the scars still remain. Her tail was cruelly pulled off leaving barely a stump. She was rescued and brought to a municipal shelter and spent several months recovering. An elderly woman adopted Catherine and she finally received the love and care she was denied. Unfortunately, Catherine's guardian was recently hospitalized and will be entering a nursing home when she is released. Catherine is still at home, alone and unaware that her owner will not be returning. The house is going to be sold and Catherine will be homeless.
Catherine is very docile and excellent with cats. Her owner spoiled her with food and she needs to lose weight. If you would like to meet Catherine, please call RSVP at (631) 728-3524. Fosters are also welcome and all expenses are paid.
