RSVP Inc is an animal rescue group that has an excellent adoption rate, but finding the right home can take time – sometimes weeks or even months. Waiting for that special someone can be very difficult. The hours drag on, as these dogs wait in their kennel for someone to take them for a walk, toss a ball or just give a little loving. A small group of dedicated volunteers makes sure that someone visits the dogs each day, 365 days/year, rain or shine. As we strive to help more dogs, there is a need for more help. Human interaction and physical activity are essential to the dogs' health and well being. Even if you could not walk the dogs, but could possibly help the group in other ways, all help is needed. Areas opened for additional volunteers are:

1. Website & database maintenance:
- maintain/scan documentation for dogs (adoption records, vet/medical records) and upload to website
- update database/website and petfinders.com with various information

2. Home visits: follow up visits with dogs adopted locally

3. Transports: meet and greet: transport dogs to potential foster/adoption homes.

4. Dog walking: any day from approx. 9am-6pm. Flexible. RSVP Dogs are boarded at Jamesport kennel

5. Community outreach: care of dogs (privately owned) kept outdoors, mostly low-income areas, deliver RSVP dog houses, hay, food, offer spay/neuter services, and provide transportation to vet

6. Temporary foster care: provide basic needs, training and TLC for dogs waiting for permanent homes.

7. Fundraising: Newsletter: story writing, photography, copying, stuffing, stamping etc.

8. Fundraising: Event planning: local merchant sponsorships, raffle baskets, invitations, mailings, posters/flyers

9. Promotion: Post flyers of dogs for adoption on local community bulletin boards.

10. Research: Compile statistics of local shelters for grant applications

11. Research: obtain info on local pet-friendly condos (Condo Conversion Campaign)

12. Clerical: assist with record keeping, perform basic accounting functions, maintain a simple chart of accounts

13. Clerical: respond to phone inquiries, take detailed messages re: dogs in need of rehoming, reference checks.

14. Food Drive: collect dog food through Girl/Boy Scout troops or local grocery/pet stores.

15. Ebay Store: develop an online ebay store for selling donated items.
